Why Your Lash Lifts Are Inconsistent (And How the Korean Lash Lift Technique Can Help)

If you’ve ever finished a lash lift and thought…

“Why didn’t these lashes lift?” 🤔

Or maybe your last client had incredible results using the exact same products and technique — but this client’s lashes barely moved.

You’re not alone.

One of the biggest frustrations I hear from lash artists is inconsistency.

👉🏽 Underprocessed lashes
👉🏽 Overcurled lashes
👉🏽 One eye lifting differently than the other
👉🏽 Results that look amazing on one client and completely different on the next

After enough disappointing results, it’s easy to start questioning your products, your technique — or whether you should even offer lash lifts at all.

A Great Lash Lift Isn’t About Memorizing Steps

Here’s what I want more lash artists to understand:

A great lash lift isn’t about memorizing a set of steps. It’s about understanding the lashes in front of you.

Why do lash lift results vary so much?

Natural lashes aren’t one-size-fits-all.

Every client comes to you with a different:

  • Lash length

  • Thickness

  • Porosity

  • Natural growth direction

  • Eye shape

  • Lash health

So why would we treat every set of lashes exactly the same? 💭

Using the same shield, processing time and technique on every client can create completely different outcomes.

This is where client and lash analysis become so important.

What Should You Assess Before a Lash Lift?

Before beginning a lash lift, you should be asking yourself:

💭 What direction are these lashes naturally growing?

💭 What type of eye shape does my client have? Will her lash length interfere with her brow bone structure?

💭 How resistant or porous do the lashes appear?

💭 What result is she hoping to achieve?

💭 Which shield will create that result on these lashes?

Your answers should influence how you approach the entire service.

Shield Selection Can Completely Change Your Result

One of the biggest areas I see artists struggle with is shield selection.

Choosing a shield simply because it’s your favourite — or because another artist achieved a beautiful result with it — doesn’t mean it’s the right shield for the client sitting in front of you.

Different shield shapes create different results.

The size, curvature, placement and relationship between the natural lash length and the shield all matter.

Instead of memorizing which shield is “best,” you need to understand why you would choose one shield over another.

Once you understand that, your results become far more intentional.

Processing Shouldn’t Be a Guessing Game

Another common mistake is relying on one universal processing time.

Natural lashes need to be assessed throughout the service.

Learning what properly softened lashes actually look and feel like gives you far more control than simply setting a timer and hoping for the best.

This is one of the reasons I fell in love with the Korean approach to lash lifting.

What Makes a Korean Lash Lift Different? 🇰🇷

Korean lash lifting changed the way I approached this service because it gave me significantly more control over the process.

Rather than simply following a rigid formula, the technique allows us to approach the lashes more intentionally while prioritizing lash health, customization and the final result.

I’ve spent the past several years educating lash artists and the past two years specializing specifically in Korean lash lifting.

I’ve completed three Korean lash lift certifications and travelled to South Korea to physically train with Korean educators. 🇰🇷

I then took that knowledge and combined it with my years of experience working with Western clients, different eye shapes, lash types and the challenges I was seeing artists encounter behind the chair.

The result is my own approach to Korean lash lift education:

Authentic Korean technique + detailed client analysis + real-world troubleshooting.

But What Happens When a Lash Lift Goes Wrong?

This might be one of the most important things missing from lash lift education.

Because even experienced artists encounter challenging cases.

Your education shouldn’t only prepare you for the perfect lash lift.

It should teach you what to do when the result isn’t perfect.

What happens if the lashes are underprocessed?

What if they’re overcurled?

What if one eye processes differently?

What if you need to perform a lash lift reversal?

Understanding how to troubleshoot gives you something much more valuable than simply knowing the steps:

Confidence.

Instead of panicking when something unexpected happens, you can look at the result, understand what likely happened and determine your next step.

You Don’t Need Another Certificate

You need an education you can actually use behind the chair.

That’s exactly why I created my Korean Lash Lift Masterclass.

This isn’t a two-page PDF explaining the basic steps of a lash lift.

The training dives deeply into:

✔️ Client and lash analysis
✔️ Authentic Korean lash lift technique
✔️ Shield selection and sizing
✔️ Processing
✔️ Lash placement
✔️ Troubleshooting
✔️ Lash lift reversals
✔️ Adapting to challenging lash types and eye shapes
✔️ Step-by-step demonstrations
✔️ Tips and techniques I’ve developed from years of working behind the chair

And because everything is visually laid out and demonstrated, artists around the world can successfully learn the technique online without needing to travel to Winnipeg.

Join 700+ Lash Artists Worldwide

I’ve now trained 700+ artists worldwide, and the online Korean Lash Lift Masterclass has received 100 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews.

For me, those reviews mean more than the number itself.

They represent artists who finally understand why they’re doing what they’re doing instead of simply memorizing another lash lift protocol.
